After Upgrading, cannot add/edit Watch Items/Transactions

PROBLEM

After upgrading, cannot add/edit Watch Items/Transactions

CAUSE

  1. A manual upgrade was performed, but wwbupgrade.exe was not run after files are unziped and moved.
  2. WebWatchBot was upgraded via WWBUpdater (You were either automatically notified of the ugprade or you initiated the upgrade via Help -> Check for New Version)

RESOLUTION/WORKAROUND

  1. For Cause #1
    1. Stop the WebWatchBot Service: Tools -> Stop Service
    2. Close the WebWatchBot Manager
    3. Then, run the program WWBupgrade.exe, located in the install folder, e.g. C:\Program Files\WebWatchBot 5.
    4. If you get an error:
      1. Open a new support case by logging into our site: http://www.exHelp.com. You will have a chance to send us a log file during this process.
      2. Open WebWatchBot Manager, and do the following: Help -> ExclamationSoft Support -> View Event Log.
      3. Notepad will open.
      4. Save the file and send it as an attachment to: support@exclamationsoft.com
  2. For Cause #2
    1. Open a new support case by logging into our site: http://www.exHelp.com. You will have a chance to send us a log file during this process.
    2. Open WebWatchBot Manager, and do the following: Help -> ExclamationSoft Support -> View Event Log.
    3. Notepad will open.
    4. Save the file and send it as an attachment to: support@exclamationsoft.com
