ExclamationSoft no longer supports this feature. It was introduced to work around some limitations in previous versions, e.g. maintenance periods for Watch Items, scheduling of reports.

To use the command line interface, open a DOS Command Prompt:

Windows 95/98/Me

  1. Click on the Windows "Start" button
  2. Select "Programs"
  3. Select "MS-DOS Prompt"


Windows NT/2000/XP/2003

  1. Click on the Windows "Start" button
  2. Select "Programs"
  3. Select "Accessories"
  4. Select "Command Prompt"

From the command prompt type: "WWBCmdLine"<enter> and a list of commands will appear:

Usage: WWBCmdLine [Optional Parameters]

Explanation:

(Optional Parameters:)

  -clearstats (-cs)    = Clear Statistics.

                         Combine -clearstats with -watchitem to clear statistics
                         for the specified Watch Item.

  -noservice  (-ns)    = Configures WebWatchBot to run as a Windows Application

  -q                   = Suppresses output to screen - only logs output

  -reportlist (-rl)    = Display list of all report names for the specified

                         watch item (See -watchitem)

  -report     (-r)     = Report name.  Enclose in quotes if name contains

                         spaces.

                         Combine -report with -watchitem to run the specified

                         report for the specified Watch Item.

  -resetalarm (-ra)    = Resets alarm for specified Watch Item.  Enclose in

                         quotes if name contains spaces.

                         Combine -report with -watchitem to run the specified

  -resetall   (-rl)    = Resets alarms for all Watch Items.

  -service    (-sv)    = Configures WebWatchBot to run as a Windows Service

  -watchitem  (-wi)    = Watch Item's name.  Enclose in quotes if name

                         contains spaces.

  -watchlist  (-wl)    = Display list of all watch item names

Note: When specifying a Watch Item name or a report name, case is sensitive.


Examples

Display a list of all the watch item names:

WWBCmdLine -watchlist


Display a list of all the report names for a specified watch item:

WWBCmdLine -watchitem watchitemname -reportlist


Run a selected report for a specified watch item:

WWBCmdLine -watchitem watchitemname -report reportname
