Watch Items: Failure Descriptions

Watch Types may fail for the following reasons. (Watch Type specific failures are noted in parenthesis):


  • Cannot Retrieve Message - Unable to retrieve the message from the mail server. (POP3)
  • Connect Failed - Either the server cannot be reached, or it does not exist. See log for detail. (Port)
  • Destination Unreachable - Either the server cannot be reached, or it does not exist. (Ping)
  • DNS Server Not Found - Either the server cannot be reached, or it does not exist. (DNS)
  • Initialization Failed - Failed to initialize test message. See log for detail. (SMTP)
  • Initialization Failed - Failed to initialize connection to mail server. See output/log for detail. (POP3)
  • Initialization Failed - Failed to initialize. See log for detail. (Port)
  • Initialization Failed - Failed to initialize for FTP communications. (FTP)
  • No message - There is no message to download in this mail account. (POP3)
  • Query Failed - Could not query the DNS server. (DNS)
  • Receive Failed - Failed to receive file(s) from server. (FTP)
  • Search Failed - Page was downloaded, however, the search text specified was not found. (HTTP/HTTPS)
  • Search Failed - the search text was found - triggering the alarm. (HTTP/HTTPS)
  • Search Failed - Message was downloaded, however, the search text specified was not found. (POP3)
  • Search Failed - Query was successful, however, the search text specified was not found. (DNS)
  • Send Failed - The message could not be sent. See log for detail. (SMTP)
  • Send Failed - Failed to send file(s) to server. (FTP)
  • Timeout - Response from server took longer than the threshold set.
  • Unknown - An unknown error occurred
